Yamaguchi prefecture, my home in Japan, is brimming with nature. Rice fields, forests, mountains, beaches- it’s got them all. I saw this river whilst on a bike ride through the hills, the rising mist serving to give the shot a sense of mystery.

There are a few islands off the coast of Hagi, sleepy ones with a handful of people on. One rainy day, I cycled past the beach and noticed them looking quite eerie, all shrouded in mist. I thought it might make a good picture.
