In Japan there are temples everywhere! Traipsing through busy city streets you will often stumble across them. Lakes, trees, beautiful buildings and the smell of incense. I think lots of tourists get a little bit templed out, in a ‘once you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all’ way. I still love them though, they are always interesting and peaceful to walk around. I took this photo in one just outside Haigi. If you look closely you can see the little wishes written on bits of paper, hopefully attached to trees at Shinto temples.
