In Japan you can see around corners. There are safety mirrors at every turn to help cars on their way- unintentionally creating an interesting photo, both ways down a street.

Black and white with colour reflections? Wow!
winegums November 17, 2011
Thought it might improve the composition. It was a bit distracting in full colour.

Brilliant image! Very clever and I love your use of black and white contrasting with the color, very effective.
winegums November 19, 2011
Thanks! Thought some selective colourisation would really make the photo.

Terrific shot! I can completely appreciate why you desaturated everything but the mirrors – they are the focal point after all. Mostly I have struggled to see much use for this type of effect but you’ve really re-opened my eyes (and my mind) to its possibilities. Can’t wait to see some more or your photographic adventures through Japan. Oh, and thanks for stopping by my site.

Thanks! I do like the selective colour effect and often think that I probably over use it. I do try to only use it where it emphasises the subject though- whether it be the colour or composition. In this case I thought it really added something 🙂 Thanks for checking out my blog and I look forward to seeing more of your pictures in the future- the ones on the beach at sunset were beautiful!
