Day 358 – kyotographs

I have featured Kyoto a lot on this blog – sometimes I think a bit too much. I don’t think long though. Kyoto is one of the most amazing places I have ever been. If I had to choose one place to photography for the rest of my life – in some sort of weird blackmail, hostage situation – Kyoto would be it. It’s my desert island photo location. Just as an aside, my desert island camera is the Fuji X100s (a post coming up on that in the near future). Every street corner fuses tradition and culture with the hustle of a modern city, conjuring a stunning visual melting pot. I am pretty sure I could just through a camera in the general direction of something interesting.

So… here’s a few more images from a Kyoto (did I mention that it is amazing and, if you have the chance, you should visit).

Day 357 – Monkey Moments- Part 20 AND Monkey News

monkey news

Another in the series of ‘monkey news’ (see part one and part two).

In early 2013, the Iranian Government released some pictures of a monkey. A monkey they claimed to have sent on a successful round-trip into space.

The simian space traveller’s flight caused a bit of controversy. Not only does the poor little guy look a little scared, sources in the media called into question whether the flight had ever taken place and whether the monkey survived. The photos released of the monkey pre and post launch added fuel to the conspiracy, the monkey mug shots appearing to show two different primates –
