I snapped this outside a local temple – home to these stunning stone lanterns. The vibrant red gate, grand and intricate, combines subtly with rolling green hills to conjure something uniquely Japanese.
Day 336 – misty mountain top
The view over Hagi (my home town in Japan) – all fogged, misty and moody. If the view itself is not reward enough for the hike to the top, there is a foot spa to sooth your feet, drink a well earned beer and admire the beautiful vista.
Day 335 – itsukushima shrine – 厳島 (again)
