Hagi is a castle town. Or rather it isn’t, it having been knocked down. The grounds however, are always worth a stroll- especially when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, a pretty pink canvas. Keep an eye out for part two!

Day 146- A cherry blossom stroll
These photos were taken on an evening, river-side, stroll- people bustling to gaze at the cherry blossoms, set against a brilliant sunset and accompanied by an especially affectionate cat.

Cherry blossoms are a big deal in Japan! Everyone goes a little barmy for two weeks, flocking to parks and temples to hold hanami drinking parties under a pink sky.
