Cherry blossoms are a big deal in Japan! Everyone goes a little barmy for two weeks, flocking to parks and temples to hold hanami drinking parties under a pink sky. Hagi castle (featured in yesterdays post) hosted a splattering of food stalls and was adorned with lanterns, illuminating the the blossoms after sun-down. I took this shot of one, the reds complimenting a fluffy pink backdrop.

Such a stunning shot. Beautifully and simply composed. Now I need to work on my family; I’d dearly love to visit. .
