Shutter Speed: 7.6 seconds, Aperture: F/11, ISO: 100
At a recent BBQ we bought a few fireworks and sparklers to liven up proceedings. I had never tried light painting before and thought it would be fun to try. It took some experimentation with my settings, trying to find the right aperture and shutter speed, but eventually I started to get some good shots. In the end I settled on bulb mode, holding down the shutter until the word or shape was finished.
These are the best of the bunch- a couple of attempts at ‘Japan’, a Kanji character and the obligatory heart.

We considered backwards but then figured it was hard enough to write in mid air forwards! So I went for the flip in post option 🙂
