Looking back at the photo’s I took for yesterdays post, I noticed I had missed one. The featured temple boasts a maze of stone lanterns, spectacularly lit once a year for the Buddhist festival of Obon. I zoomed in tight on a small section to create the illusion of size, a pattern stretching through the horizon.

The light is perfection and it looks wonderful in black and white. It has just the right ambience, almost ghostly.
