I took this photo on a weekend trip to Fukuoka City (on Kyushu island). I like the way the smoke mingles with the tiers of the pagoda, adding intrigue to the already contrasting red and greens.

Day 159- Cherry Pagoda
My nearest cities (Yamaguchi) biggest attraction is a Pagoda. A regal, five-storied one- ever-present as it stalks the horizon.
Day 121- Pagoda in the sun
In the nearby town of Hofu, there is temple boasting a three tier Pagoda. Pagoda’s always make a beautiful picture, their distinctive shape immediately evoking Japan and the eastern religions. The light was perfect for a photo- the sun low in the sky, wrapping a gentle orange through the picture.
