As spring turns to summer I have rediscovered the beach. Dreary and depressing in the winter, the warmer weather has rejuvenated it into the perfect place for a sunset game of chess.
Apparently, two foreigners playing chess is a bit of an attention grabber. A couple of friends on a meander along the beach stopped for as good a chat as the language barrier allowed and a couple of pictures. A few days later my friend stumbled across our chess game online, blogged by one of our Japanese acquaintances- “Foreign people spotted playing chess on the beach”.
