It feels as though Hagi (my hometown) has an indefinite number of temples- sandwiched between houses, behind gates and hidden round corners. Wandering down an unknown street I careered into a new one. As usual there were a number of Buddha statue’s, in red hats and bibs, that I can never resist photographing. See my other buddha posts here.

Why are they wearing such interesting outfit? 🙂

Thats a good question! I still can’t quite work it out, even after asking lots of people. I have kind of given up and just started photographing them all. Their bright hats make for a good photo 🙂 I liked your photos from Hiroshima and Miyajima. Miyajima is definitely one of my favourite places in Japan!

Thank you! I enjoyed visiting Japan, it is such a beautiful country. Perhaps they’re cold and hungry? 🙂

Haha, that’s as good an explanation as I have heard. I am going to go with that.

I love the way you describe places so lyrically! And I’m also curious why they are wearing the caps and bibs!

Awww, thank you. It’s nice to get a compliment on my writing, I like to put some effort into it along with all the pictures 🙂 I really want to know why they wear hats and bibs! If you can find out I will send you a prize! 🙂
